  5. Chair Report

    1. NPU was started by Mayor Maynard Jackson in 1974 to serve as a liaison between the Community and City offices.

    2. Encourage community residents to consider becoming more involved in 2020

    3. Meetings going forward will go as follows: Public Officials first, Voting matters, then non-voting matters

      1. Still great number leaving cars running at gas stations causing theft need community to be more cautious

      2. New Major will be at next meeting to introduce themselves

        1. Rise during holidays for snatch & grab crimes by youth, but have made a lot of arrests in regard to this

        2. Continuing patrol efforts

        3. Auto related crimes have decreased so continue to ensure vehicles are secure and no items are visible

      5. Community Prosecutor – Shari Scales-Jones – Not Here

        1. Stats for October there were nine not found violations, November there were three not found, December there were10 not found

        2. When using 311 if unsure of address please contact Officer Brayboy first. No address or wrong address causes a delay in your complaints being addressed

        3. Register vacant homes as vacant which allows quicker evacuation for any homeless person that takes up residency in the house. It is a $100 yearly fee to register home

        1. Toilet Rebate Program has made some changes flyers available and can be found on the website

        2. Weather causing issues to pipes so please protect as best possible by letting drip, locate shut off valve and disconnect hoses from outside to allow proper drainage

        3. MOST – Municipal Option Sales Tax vote on March 24th sales tax used to finance federal clean water program, it is a .01 cent sales tax

        1. January 27th New Mural honoring Boone

        2. Antonio Brown was at the Fulton County Commissioner’s meeting this morning to speak about the 117 spoke during the presentation so reconsidering those grants. Arts Center West End is not going away are putting money toward redeveloping

        3. Legislation to repeal their code to have rent control, provide incentives to developers contribute to affordable housing

        4. Working on Homeless Legislation

      1. Introduction of new chair made by Lisa o GDOT is doing their rail survey for their new rail plan. Survey is available until this Friday

      2. Will work to Improve pedestrian infrastructure, attend Marta Meetings, speeding within neighborhoods, looking for new committee members

      1. January 21, 2020 Police Citizen Class will be graduating at Ray Charles Performing Arts Center at Morehouse College

      2. Shari Jones, provided information on person who was convicted to five years

      3. 1107 RDA from 2015 – until 2019 there have been over 300 criminal incidents. Using that information to go before the license review board to revoke the license in which we voted against initially o

      1. Survey from Atlanta Board of Education for new Superintendent has to be completed by tonight. Link was sent by Kim Scott

    2. Dr. April Hane – New pharmacy by Krispy Kreme come out support. Sunday workouts are from 2-3 an open to the community
